“Power on, connected, battery more than 8 hours” and with that, my only connection with a voice of any kind today has ended. It’s a one sided cold interaction no matter which way you look at it, isn’t it? On top of this coldness, I spend a lot of time isolated and working on my own in the beigest of offices, it’s windowless, it’s stuffy and it smells like your cheesy socks crawled behind the radiator and died in here. It’s pretty fuckin grim. So the problem is where do I get my warmth from? Where do I get the wee bit of heat that only another human can pass on to me? Well, luckily for me itami by The Convict is a transmitter of warmth, a temperature currency converter, a water carrier of sauna sweat, if you will.
At its very essence it is quite a simple beat but it also quietly danceable as well. I was pleasantly pleased to catch myself moving around to it when I got out the shower this morning, turns out Mr and Mrs Ramsbottom across the way didn’t share the same sentiment (luckily I managed to get out of any bother by offering the two police officers who showed up triangle jam sandwiches).
The strikes of guitar that punctuate the beat are cool, perhaps there to remind you that although this is primarily chill, there is still a lot of soul in this beat, the guitar itself wouldn’t sound out of place on something by The Temptations. The subtle changes that occur throughout the beat are cleverly written and allow it to never dull, the drums drop in and out effortlessly and never affect the overall feel, smooth as Galaxy ice cream, yummers.
As the beat moves on the changes in the kick drum are nicely orchestrated and slightly unpredictable as well, allowing you a chance to throw out a few more unorthodox dance moves like ‘’The Slovakian Robot” or the“ I’m getting some beans from Lidl” move. In fact seeing as nobody is here, I might have another little dance just now, I’d advise you to stick on this track and do the same, pc. Check it oot here
