You know on any given day, let’s call it ‘’Greyday”, you are walking down some grey shitty street, past some grey shitty people, looking down at your grey shitty shoes, devoid of any colour, any energy just getting by and going from grey place A to greyer place B. Those days are kind of numb days, no beautiful rainbows in the sky to light up your mind but also no constant drizzle to drown your soul. Sometimes it feels like those empty days can last forever, but the thing is about those grey days is that it can sometimes just take one little thing to happen, one tiny event to tip that day into glorious technicolour: getting two mars bars out a vending machine when you only paid for one, realising your boss has randomly taken the day off and left you in charge, seeing a dog licking a kid’s face (after it licked its own sweaty arse), you get the idea.

So today when I was walking down the street and sunset dreams gently came on in my ear holes it had the power to tip my numb grey day into a good day, a very good day, it honestly gave me goose bumps, I really needed a song like this today and I thank CDM for it.

First things first, I fuckin love the guitar in it, it came creeping into my ears like someone gently knocking on my out of work mind telling me to wake the hell up and get out of my self- pitying hole. When it comes in, that’s when all the other instruments come alive. The lovely synth like organ melodies all mould together as one, a glorious one, all guided by this lightly muted, perfectly played guitar.

The beat, quite uniquely I suppose, seems to peak somewhere around the middle. The drums gradually gain more influence on the song and naturally drive it along nicely. At this point a distant conversation from a far away land appears in the song and it has the feeling of a chat that is floating through your dreams. It seems to be a lost conversation where you are never quite sure if it is about you or about that dog licking its own arse. Eventually though, the drums decide to disappear, to leave town and when they do that perfect guitar comes back into the foreground, and as I slowly glance down at my feet I quietly notice that my shitty grey shoes shoes aint so shitty and grey anymore, pc. Check it oot here
